We design and produce beautiful, ecologically safe, handmade furniture of uncompromising quality.
Our mission is to give new life to classic shapes and motifs using traditional technologies and materials.
Handcrafted furniture formed exclusively with natural materials.
Tensioned jute webbing creates a firm foundation for all the springs in our chairs, which are handsewn and bound by our craftsmen. The next step is filling. The inner filling of any soft furniture is formed of several layers. Each layer is covered with protective mechanical fabric and placed by hand. Making handcrafted furniture is a fine art.
One of the filler layers is latex, a hypoallergenic material with orthopedic qualities. It’s a superior product to the polyurethane foam more commonly used by most furniture makers. The next filler is a layer of the horsehair, and it’s this that provides a product’s form. Horsehair is unbeatable in the production of high-quality furniture because of its elasticity, firmness and eco-friendly properties. It also maintains the original shape of the product and is resistant to moisture absorption.
Our manufacturing principles are based not only on perfect design and elegance, but also on high-quality and environmentally friendly materials.
Every frame across our range is made of solid wood. We source FSC-certified pre-dried, well-prepared, moisture-proof wood, to ensure durability that will last generations. Most of our furniture is made using oak, walnut, cherry, redwood, and ash, but our traditional approach to furniture design and construction means we can build bespoke furniture to just for you, in almost any wood you choose.
Not every furniture manufacturer – not even every luxury furniture brand – places such emphasis on longevity. It is meticulous work, requiring skills honed over decades.
We use only water-based glues and all joinery is carried out by traditional methods, without a nail to be found.
Each product starts with an idea, explored first through sketches and then with greater precision through computer aided design drawings. Next, we move to developing 3D models of that item of furniture, before making prototype versions to test for strength and comfort. Only when we’re happy that we have created something which is not just elegant and eye-catching, but sturdy and robust, do we move on to manufacture the final product.
Each item of furniture is assembled and filled entirely by hand, by a carefully selected team of skilled specialists using traditional techniques. The wood itself is processed using state-of-the-art technology, with detailed wooden elements made exclusively by master craftsmen. It’s the perfect blend of old and new: luxury furniture that conforms to international standards.
Our approach allows us to customise any product, whether that’s with a different finish, another kind of solid wood, alternative furnishing fabric or an increase or decrease in size. There’s no need to settle for anything less than perfect.
